WORSHIP NOTES

--The message: Pastor Gail will continue the “Practicing the Way” sermon series. The message, “Be with Jesus” (Come as You Are), will be based on Luke 10:38-42; John 17:3 + John 15. Summary: Our doing for God must flow from a life of being with God.

--Baptism: This morning, Elodie Joy Van Zee, daughter of Marcus & Jenny, will be baptized.

--Today’s offerings are for the General Fund and the Sack Pack Sioux Center Program. The Sack Pack Program offers free meals & snacks for kids to take home from school on weekends. The packs contain individually packaged food that is ready to eat or easily prepared in the microwave. It’s supported by Hunger Free Kids of Sioux County and local communities. Sack Pack Sioux Center is headquartered in the H.O.M.E. building and volunteers/groups currently pack sacks for approximately 300 kids every week.

*His Hands His Feet Sunday Service: Each year, on the first Sunday of May, Bridge of Hope gathers at a different location at 9:30am for a different type of service. Rather than a traditional worship service, the body engages in acts of service around our community. The His Hands His Feet Team (previously called the outreach team) has been busy planning ways we can serve our community this year. Some activities will be indoors, others outdoors. Some will be kid-friendly, others not as much. For children too young to participate, child-care will be provided at the shelter house. After brief devotions and prayer, we’ll be divided into groups according to where we would like to serve. We’ll go out from there and serve for approximately 1½ hours and return to the shelter house for pulled pork sandwiches provided by Council.

Please join us on Sunday, May 5, at 9:30am at the CHILDREN’S PARK SHELTER HOUSE. Questions? Contact hishands@bridgecrc.org.

Please save your plastic gallon milk jugs to be used to make soap for the Hope Food Pantry on His Hands His Feet Sunday. Please RINSE them out well and make sure they have a screw top lid. If you don’t want them sitting around your house, feel free to drop them off at the Ministry Center. Questions? Contact hishands@bridgecrc.org.

THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered on Saturday, April 6 with salt delivery and snack donations! It went very well; Bridge earned $3100.

Additional announcements can be found in the Community Activities Sheet, a weekly publication of activities/events pertaining to the Christian Reformed churches in Sioux Center, as well as other churches within our community. It originated because of the repetitive nature of the common announcements being printed in Sioux Center church bulletins. It can be found here.

Koinonia Prayer Requests: Prayer requests on Sunday mornings at Bridge of Hope have historically been taken verbally during worship. To help make sharing requests more accessible to all, a google form has been created so that people can share requests at a different time and method than verbally on Sunday morning. Prayer requests submitted this way will be included in the email that gets sent to the body each week on either Monday or Tuesday. (Please note: Any prayer requests submitted after the Koinonia Prayer email has been sent that week will wait to be emailed out until the following week. Also, requests made here will not be verbalized on Sunday mornings by the Pastoral Shepherd leading Koinonia Prayer.) Submitting an online prayer request can be done by following this link: http://tinyurl.com/28ehb28b.
